More progress…
Picked through my redwood tops and walnut backs, then traced a basic profile trying to avoid any undesirable spots.
Used the shooting board and joined the soundboards. They aren’t quite wide enough, so once the glue cured, I cut out the shape and used the top cut outs to glue on the bottoms as wings to hit the proper width. Just made it without having to use another board.
Backs will be joined next. They should be easier as they are wide enough. These pieces aren’t perfect, but I think they will be acceptable, especially for reclaimed or found wood that I re-sawed myself, and should be fine for a first guitar(s).
Planing to thickness next and then working on the rosette, which I’ll still pondering how exactly to finish.
